PICTURE OF THE WEEK    IMAGES FROM AFAR
Bringing people together

July 20, 2008

Chain Bridge, built between 1839 and 1849, was the first permanent bridge to span the Danube River and connect the then-separate cities of Buda and Pest in Hungary. On summer weekends, the bridge is closed to traffic and filled with small stands selling food and other items. Alan J. Kezele shot the bridge with a Nikon Coolpix 8800 digital camera. In the background is Gresham Palace.
