San Marcos spotlight

The Lake San Marcos Friends of Palomar College will present "All That Jazz," a concert featuring Billy Hawkins and the High Society Band at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at Lake San Marcos Recreation Lodge, 1105 La Bonita Drive, San Marcos.

There will be beverages and appetizers. Guests will have the opportunity to dance.

Tickets are $25. Proceeds will benefit Palomar College student scholarships and other college programs.

Miss San Marcos: The 2005 Miss San Marcos pageant is set for Feb. 19. The contest is open to residents of the 92069 and 92078 ZIP codes. Applications are available at the San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Drive. The deadline to enter is Jan. 12. Information: (760) 744-9000.

Bereavement group: The Elizabeth Hospice offers an ongoing support and education group for those who have lost loved ones. The group meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at San Marcos Senior Center, 111 Richmar Ave. Information: (800) 797-2050.
